Wear local dressing

The Romanian costume is a monument literally. He does not stand in the sociological and ethnographic box clothing, but in line with the Egyptian pyramids, French cathedrals and Dutch dikes. He has that right because it is evidence brought to maturity of the existence of a cohesive civilization. He is one of the visible and tangible testimonies of village civilization of our land. Romanian costume takes us out from the art and introduces into the history. For me it is not associated with village dance, with riddles and folk tales; it rhymes with perfect and harmonious settlement of free community, who knew how to cross all vicissitudes of history through his unsurpassed system of self-guiding and adaptation. (Mircea Malita)

IA is a blouse, component of Romanian traditional costume, worn by women. It is made of white cotton cloth, linen or raw silk. It is adorned with embroidery with Romanian folk motifs especially at the sleeves, chest and neck. Some of them are embellished with beads or sequins. The basic elements of Ia’s composition are the shoulder (seam connecting sleeve of the front and rear of the ia), wrinkle, altita (broadband richly decorated on the sleeve, that is the defining element of the model and is not repeated in any other part), rivers (straight or diagonal stripes on the chest and sleeves) and tacks (the seams joining pieces of material).Embroidery patterns and ornaments differ from one area to another on the lands inhabited by Romanians, from the Dniester to the Hungarian border. The chromatic differ from region to region and even from village to village in the same geographic region. E.g: Suceava has sober colors, but pleasant, natural (brown, tan, black, dark green), Campulung is full of red and black wire, Vrancea there is a strong geometry and strong colors (red, black, blue, green, ocher), in Ilfov use warm colors (with multiple shades of red, gold, ocher), in Gorj, especially in the north, using only black – clear influence from the “Sălişte” (Sibiu region). Instead composition, the reasons are very dynamic: cervix mill, stars, spirals, rams horns, hooks, etc.
