All lovers of nature and lacustrine regions in particular, as well as all lovers of adventure in general, have heard of the Danube Delta. Nowhere else in Europe is it possible to find an area so abundant in different forms of live. The Delta is a unique ark of living creatures, from the wild horses to little turtles and small fishes hiding through the reeds. It is surnamed “The Pelicans’ Paradise” because it offers real shows of the biggest birds in the delta. They fish in groups and at the edge of a not too deep lake they settle in a circle, creating something like a living fence.

The traditional fishing villages of the Danube Delta seem relics of an ancestral world. The people of these waterways are fishermen and make their living entirely from what they catch. Traditional fish dishes hold pride of place in the Danube Delta. If you find yourself in these parts, you will be able to enjoy spit-roasted fish, fish borscht, pickled fish with garlic, fishcakes. And it perfectly goes with wine from the Niculitel vineyard.
